Nicolás Robbio (Brazilian)

Born in 1975 in Mar del Plate, Argentina. Nicolás Robbio graduated from the Escuela Superior de Artes Visuales Malharro in 1999 and has lived and worked in São Paulo, Brazil since 2001. His work reveals a desire to bring new meanings to the structure of common objects, creating an intimate body of work that includes photography, video, drawings and site-specific installations. In 2006 Robbio was awarded the Rumos prize for contemporary visual art and this year he was selected to participate in the 28th Bienal de São Paulo. His solo exhibitions include Por Puntos (By Points), Galeria Nuevochenta, Bogota, 2008; Porque Junio no tiene 31 dias (Because June does not have 31 days), Ruth Benzacar, Buenos Aires. 2007; Quase como Ontem (Almost like Yesterday), Galeria Vermelho, São Paulo, 2007; Avalanche, Kunstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin, 2007 and Only Icebergs Travel Adrift , first site, Colchester, UK, 2005.
